The modern-day Weavers still uphold the traditions laid down by the fellow craftsmen who have gone before us, but the march of time and the introduction of modern technologies now means that the Weavers – along with the other six trades in the Incorporation – no longer practice their ancient craft.
However, we have a past, we are in the present, and we look to the future. Our website is intended to promote the activities of the 21st century members of the Incorporation of Irvine Weavers and it is hoped that you will be encouraged to support us in our many charitable events and other activities. It is our intention to re-kindle interest in the craft, generate debate between members old and – hopefully – new, and reach out to other like-minded organisations.
